National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum Bench Program
Throughout our 40+ years in business, we have worked with a variety of organizations to support their bench donor programs. While all structured differently, these programs allow donors to "purchase" a bench including a plaque for messages such as a dedication, quote, or simply just their names. Parks, museums, arboretums, universities, and hospitals have benefited in many ways from these programs. First, they are a source of funding. Some organizations charge a yearly fee, while others allow donors to have a multi-year lease on a bench. Second, these benches provide seating for guests to utilize while visiting. And lastly, they allow donors to feel a connection with the place where their bench resides. It creates a sense of loyalty and pride.
A program that exemplifies all of these things is the Bench Program at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York. We had the opportunity to sit down with Jason F. Schiellack, the Director of Development and Sponsorship, along with some of the donors, to learn more about their program, its success, and what it means to have a bench at this iconic place.
